Electronics / Embedded Hardware Engineer

We’re a small hardware startup building IoT and automation devices, and we’re moving from prototypes to products we can sell. Humanoid robots come later (yes, we’re serious). First we need someone who can build the electronics and help make them commercial-grade.

What you’ll do

• Build and debug prototypes using microcontrollers, breadboards, and motor and sensor circuits
• Move designs from breadboard to cleaner, more reliable hardware
• Help plan the path from prototype to a marketable product
• Work alongside us on firmware (we handle much of the coding, but your input matters)

What we’re looking for

• Solid experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or similar)
• Strong soldering and wiring skills, and comfort reading schematics
• Electrical engineering coursework or equivalent hands-on projects

Bonus (not required, and pay goes toward the top of the range): Custom PCB design (KiCad, Altium, or similar), 3D printing experience, experience with AI agents or tools that streamline team workflows

Setup

Interviews and planning are remote. We meet in the shop about 1-2 times a week to build and test.

Employment type

Part-time independent contractor (1099), not a W-2 position. Hours are flexible around classes and work. If your program requires internship paperwork or credit, we’re happy to work that out.
