We’re a small hardware startup building IoT and automation devices (microcontrollers, motors, sensors). Humanoid robots? Not yet, but that’s the dream once we’ve shipped our first products. We need someone to turn our sketches and rough ideas into printable, multi-part 3D models.
What you’ll do
- Turn sketches, stencils, and rough drawings into fully modeled prototypes
- Design multi-part enclosures and mounts that fit real components
- Iterate on designs after test prints and hardware fit checks
What we’re looking for
- Experience with CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar)
- Portfolio, class projects, or personal builds you can show us
Bonus (not required): 3D printing experience, design-for-manufacturing knowledge, experience with AI tools that speed up workflows
Setup
Interviews and most design work are remote. We meet in the shop about 1-2 times a week when there’s something to print or build.
Employment type
Part-time independent contractor (1099), not a W-2 position. Hours are flexible around classes and work. If your program requires internship paperwork or credit, we’re happy to work that out.
